Andrew F. Kraus

A successful entrepreneur and accomplished executive within the international clinical research industry.  Strong track record of skillful management through the convergence of expertise in business strategy, operational excellence, technology innovation, and financial acumen.  Leadership abilities that have developed world class organizations, driving business transformation to increase profit margins and propel corporate growth.

In a career spanning nearly 30 years, I have started a company in my basement with a business partner and drove that venture into an international business with hundreds of employees and offices across the globe, ultimately selling at a value of nearly 60M.  During my tenure as COO of a non-profit research organization in NYC, I oversaw a 20% increase in revenue that was nearly double the headcount growth rate, resulting in margins that enabled the necessary multi-million-dollar office relocation and further funded the important mission of the foundation.

While serving as COO of Bioclinica (owned by PE firm Cinven), I lead an international team of 600+ employees across 10 offices spanning the U.S., Europe, India, China and Japan. In this role, I restructured global operations, achieved or exceeded all budget targets, produced increased margins, identified and lead the acquisition of a novel technology company, and achieved gains in all key metrics for quality, productivity and efficiency.

During my non-compete period after leaving Bioclinica, I served on the executive management team of Abzena (owned by PE firm WCAS), the leading biologics target to GMP Partner Research Organization. I was fortunate to partner with Abzena at a time of unprecedented growth, leading their efforts to empower global operations through the identification, selection, and implementation of enterprise technology solutions.

Within the first six months while serving as Interim General Manager, Endpoint Solutions at Signant Health (owned by PE firm GenStar), I designed and executed a global restructuring plan encompassing more than 750 employees spanning the US, Europe, Africa and Asia. As part of the operational assessment and re-engineering, I identified and recruited two vice presidents to lead global project management and global technology delivery. I conceived and drove the complete re-work of operational project plans to align with Sales proposals, thereby greatly reducing the effort to maintain plans while enabling direct tracking of project profitability. A new set of operational and financial Metrics & KPIs were designed and implemented to monitor and achieve operational improvements. The fiscal year ended above budget for both revenue and earnings.

The relationship was extended for me to support the onboarding and transition period of the new Chief Operating Officer.  I served as a member of the COO’s Operations Leadership Team and provided line management of the BMO/PMO, Global Data Services, Global Supply Chain Logistics, VirTrial telemedicine, and SmartSignals Supplies enterprise solution.
